Support Democracy in Belarus:
All proceeds from the reading go to the Viasna Human Rights Center. The organization was founded by activist Ales Bialiatski in 1996 to contribute to development of a civic society in Belarus based on the respect for human rights. Viasna (which means “spring” in Belarusian) provides legal defense for citizens and political prisoners, and promotes democratic change. Bialiatski was imprisoned on trumped-up charges in 2021, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2022, and was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2023. For more information: https://spring96.org/en.
