Youth Program at City Garage

Put on a Play From Scratch at CITY GARAGE!
Youth Theatre Program at City Garage
(Ages 10 – 14)
March 30 – April 3 | Mon – Fri, 11am – 3pm
Performance on Saturday, April 4 at 3pm
JAIME ARZE, Artistic Director of the renowned Big Sur StageKids, announces a pilot program for Los Angeles region in collaboration with the award-winning City Garage theater. This pilot program is offered to any middle school student (ages 10-14) interested in getting on stage and creating a story. For students with theater experience, this is a great way to engage in a new form of stage work. For students with no theater experience, this is a great way to get on stage immediately. For parents and guardians, this is an innovative approach to theater arts that has been active and fruitful up and down the California Central Coast since 1998. No auditions! No scripts! No memorizing! No homework! Show up for games, improv, character creation, scene work, music, dance, choreography, and costuming. The ensemble creates the story and assembles the play in the time and space available. The performance is a culmination of one week of creativity.
For the weekday schedule, 11am – 3pm, student sign-in/drop-off times start at 10:30am and sign-out/pick-up times until 3:30pm.
There is ample and easy parking in Bergamot Station for those drop-offs and pick-ups.
Lunch, snacks, and water will not be provided, however there will be breaks throughout the day to incorporate food and hydration.
Interested students, parents & guardians will not need to prepare anything from home or purchase any materials for the program.
The Saturday performance run time will be approximately 30-45mins. (Admission $10.00)
Program cost: $500.00/per student • City Garage is a 501c3
